Glastonbury Confirm Ticket Re-Sale Date As 11th April 2010

Glastonbury festival organisers have confirmed that tickets will be going back on sale on Sunday April 11th 2010 at 9am.

This is to sell off all the failed and cancelled transactions that occured when the tickets first went on sale, so be quick if you want one because there wont be many.

In other Glastonbury news, Organiser Michael Eavis has announced that they want Snoop Dogg to play at this years bash.

After the surprise success of the Jay-Z booking, Eavis expressed his trust in his daughter Emily's decision to ask Snoop.

He made the following statement to The Sun newspaper:

"[Emily] is a bright girl and she is very keen on Snoop Dogg doing the show, so we want him."

Orbital Confirm Glastonbury Festival 2010 Performance

Orbital have confirmed that they will be making an appearance at this years Glastonbury festival.

The dance duo announced that they will be headlining the Other Stage, bringing proceedings to a close on the sunday night.

"Closing the Other Stage at Glastonbury is like coming home for a massive party,” Paul Hartnoll commented.

Glastonbury takes place between the 23rd and 27th of June 2010, and the next batch of tickets are expected to go on sale sometime this month.

T in the Park add Madness and Jamie T to Line-up.

Madness and Jamie T are the latest acts to be confirmed for the T in the Park festival.

Madness will be headlining the Radio 1/NME Stage on Sunday 11th July, joining previously announced Friday headliners, The Black Eyed Peas and Saturday headliners The Prodigy.

T  in the Park will take place in Balado, Scotland and will be held over the weekend of Friday 9th  to Sunday 11th July.

Other acts that have been confirmed include Jamie T, The Sunshine Underground and Frank Turner who will all appear on the Radio 1/NME Stage.

Final acts for Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition Revealed!

The final acts competing in this year's Emerging Talent Competition have now been revealed.

The competition brings new and unsigned bands and solo artists to compete against each other, to win a chance to perform on one of the main stages at Glastonbury Festival.

Efestivals reveal that the final two bands to have made it through to the final, following the People's Choice vote are,  "Edinburgh-based folk-poppers Mayhew who won the vote and second place act Faded Cadence who nab a place after one of the judges' 11 picks, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, are not able to make it to the live final."

Who else will be playing at Download Festival 2010?

In the week beginning 22nd March, Download Festival organisers will be revealing their next wave of bands.

Festival booker Andy Copping was seen to write on twitter today:

The Download next announcement is going to be the week after next... more bands coming your way!”

The main headliners for Download Festival 2010 have already been confirmed as AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith.


Download Festival takes place at Donington Park, Leicestershire  from 11th - 13th June

Prodigy To Headline Bestival 2010

The Prodigy have been officially announced as the Sunday night headliner for this year's Bestival.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank made the following statement about the confirmation:

"So, we can finally unveil our Sunday night headliner as Braintree's finest, The Prodigy! Since raving as a young pup to 'Charly' and 'Out of Space' through to caning their new record on my radio show, The Prodigy have been a massive part of my record collection. 

"As far as polishing off the party on Sunday night I can't think of a more explosive finale ... and it's gonna be the last we'll see of them for quite a while on our shores so get in the queue now!"

Bestival takes place on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of September 2010. So far Dizzee Rascal, Flaming Lips, Hot Chip and many other major acts have been confirmed to play. 

Florence & the Machine for Glastonbury 2010?

It looks like Florence & the Machine have scooped a spot at this years Glastonbury festival.

The leading festival website, Gigwise, exclusively published the following news yesterday:

"Florence Welch and her band will perform at a prominent time slot on The Other Stage, possibly on the Saturday, we're told."

Glastonbury's ticket re-sales date is expected to be revealed this month. Headliners have already been confirmed as Muse, U2, and Stevie Wonder.

The festival takes place between June 23rd and 27th.

Leeds and Reading Ticket Sale Date Confirmed

Official Leeds and Reading organisers have confirmed the sale date for the 2010 weekend.

As expected, the tickets will go on sale on March 29th 2010 at 6:45pm, the last Monday of the month.

Organisers have also confirmed that the line-up will be announced at the same time.

Currently the rumoured headliners are Blink 182, My Chemical Romance and Arcade Fire.

The headliners for Glastonbury festival 2010 have been confirmed.

Muse, U2 and Stevie Wonder will all appear on the top of the bill, with U2 taking the Friday slot, Muse taking the Saturday slot and Stevie Wonder closing the event.

Other confirmed acts include Jack Johnson, Florence & the Machine and Willie Nelson.

Glastonbury takes place between the 23rd and 27th of June 2010.
